About Rose Auto Service
Rose Auto Service has been in business since 1922, we are Four generations strong. Our Grandfather, Joseph Rose who later became known as "Pop" by everyone first started working on cars in the early 1900's at the automobile club of Philadelphia. Pop was a special mechanic he was blind, he lost sight in his first eye around 1913 while playing. He then lost sight in his other eye while working on a car on Thanksgiving day 1924. He opened up his own shop at "A" and the Boulevard where he worked for around 20 years with his sons, Norman, Brian and other employees.
Around 1955 "POP" and his youngest son "Brian" opened Rose Auto Service at the present location on 822 Bleigh Avenue. Pop retired when he was 84 and was featured on channel 10 news as the"84 year old blind mechanic".
